Cloud communications provider Vonage, an Ericsson subsidiary, has enhanced its partnership with SAP for global AI-enabled enterprise solutions. This collaboration will merge Vonage’s communications and network APIs with SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) and SAP Business AI, allowing businesses to build smart applications that combine seamlessly with their workflows.
This effort is a leap forward in the application of AI and business network APIs for improving operational efficiency and customer relations management. Vonage uses Ericsson’s telecommunication networks to strengthen the ecosystem, while SAP provides the underpinning technology by merging AI with SAP BTP and Vonage’s communications and network APIs.
The impact of the collaboration was explained by Philipp Herzig, SAP Chief AI Officer and CTO, who stated that agents powered by AI will assist business processes that are intricately complex and multi-layered. Interacting with humans when needed, the newly integrated solutions can resolve issues independently while streamlining efficiency and decision-making.
As part of their joint efforts, Vonage and SAP intend to work on PoC and demonstration pilot use cases, with the first one set to be presented on Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. Vonage and SAP alongside Accenture will showcase a multimodal Agentic AI application use case with APIs from Vonage. This showcase will highlight the capability of AI-powered solutions to transform operational efficiency and customer experience using actionable insights from the network and communication infrastructure."
Seckin Arikan, Head of API at Vonage, believes that this partnership can profoundly change everything. “With Agentic AI and network APIs together with SAP AI, companies will be provided with great resources to better their business processes, customer engagements, and digital transformation strategies. It is very clear that innovation needs to deliver business results, and that is precisely what this partnership is set to deliver,” says Seckin Arikan.
ERP systems will automate complex processes with the deployment of AI to accomplish a greater work efficiency and reduce the human effort that needs to go into systems management. SAP solutions use AI to scan entire data sets and optimize supply chain, financial, and procurement processes for better business decision making. With over 130 AI scenarios that SAP Business AI currently offers and plans to expand to 400 by 2025; enterprises will be able to integrate AI-powered automation into their systems without any hassle.
Like all goals in integrating technology into businesses, the partnership of SAP and Vonage also seeks to improve customer relations by using data and insights from real-time networking and communication. In SAP CRM solutions, AI can enable classification and routing of customer inquiries, which simplifies response times and improves the quality of service received from the business.
SAP and Vonage are changing the rules for business by linking AI with cloud communications and in doing so, are redefining how businesses juggle efficiency, automation awareness, and customer satisfaction.
